What is there to do with a preschooler all day? And what if you’re trying to homeschool older kids? How are you supposed to keep your preschooler occupied? You’re in luck because preschool at home activities is my specialty. Below you will find all of our posts related to preschool at home activities.

You’ll find activities for art, reading, math, cooking, and holiday-related preschool activities.

The preschool years are some of the best times you’ll get with your child. They are starting to develop that independence, but still need you at the same time. Our preschool at home activities are designed to help foster that independence while helping them learn important skills.

But here at Serenity Homeschooling, we don’t believe in teaching academic skills at a young age. It’s been proven time and time again that delay academics is better.

That doesn’t mean we don’t do fun activities around letters and numbers though. In the preschool years, it’s all about exposure to academics, not so much mastering those skills.

Here are 3 quick tips on setting up preschool at home activities:

  1. Focus on the environment: The way you’re environment is set up makes a huge difference in how your child engages with activities. Be sure all materials are within your child’s reach. That includes scissors, glue, and paint!
  2. Trust Your Child’s Natural Learning Timeline: Every child has a different timeline when it comes to learning. Some children learn academic skills early whereas others will struggle. If your child is throwing a tantrum over doing an activity, that’s a good indicator that he/she may not be ready.
  3. Have fun!
